Last week’s mac techmail was Send instant messages between Macs on a LAN which discusses using Growl and growlnotify, along with a little help from Automator, to send instant messages between macs on a LAN, without requiring any instant messaging clients. Useful for sending quick little notifications from one mac to another, or sending little notes from one mac to the next.
