Of bugzilla, python, fetchmail, and procmail

I've been working with bugzilla for years.. at Mandriva I was the primary bugzilla care-taker for a few years, and now with Red Hat I do a lot of work on some internal tools that interface with bugzilla that enhances and directs the workflow of day-to-day work (being that we work with bugzilla all the time). I also run my own bugzilla instance a) so I can keep up to date with the goings-on ...

Git commit hook to bugzilla using git-notifier

I'm a big fan of the git-notifier script, which acts as a hook in git to send you nice emails about things that have changed in your git repos. I'm also a bugzilla user, so I wanted to be able to put git commit notifications, automatically, in bugzilla if "bug #X" is in the commit log. Initially I was intending to use gitzilla for this, but I didn't feel like attempting ...

New Mandriva Bugzilla update in the works

I've spent the entire day yesterday and another day last week working on migrating the current Mandriva bugzilla 3.0.5 to the new 3.2rc1. You won't see it anywhere official until 2009.0 is released most likely, but having (some) spare time, I wouldn't to put it through the paces in a vmware machine to make sure I can document everything that needs doing and minimize downtime when it comes time to do the actual upgrade.

Bugzilla is DONE dangit!!

After a few really long weeks, bugzilla is finally live. It's about bloody time. Of course, now that it's live, there are even more requests to do stuff.

Oh well. Par for the course I guess. However, I'm seriously considering taking the next two days off to recover some of my personal time that was spent doing this thing over the last 2-3 weeks.

It's fast, it's clean... the old one ...

Bugzilla and maintainer groups

The bugzilla conversion is almost complete, except for a few minor issues that need to be figured out (such as who will be owning the bugs initiall when they are submitted). And a few minor cosmetics. Head on over to bugzilla.linsec.ca and check it out. Constructive feedback is welcome and encouraged!

Now the only thing left to do is handle components in a sane fashion (and fix a bugzilla bug that doesn't ...

New bugzilla in the works

Well, someone else was supposed to be working on the new bugzilla, but they got pulled off for an OEM project (completely understandable), so since I really need some functionality and speed out of bugzilla to progress with some work flows I have in mind, I decided to hunker down and do the dang thing myself.

For starters you can take a peek at the current implementation here: bugzilla.linsec.ca. A good sample bug to ...

Bugzilla and email

I had asked on IRC the other day for info on how to send emails to bugzilla. Well, I found the actual specs for it on the bugzilla site. The documentation in the bugzilla tarball is a bit dated in this regard.

The only problem is that checksetup.pl is a little strict and keeps changing permissions on me. For me to use this with my own bugzilla, I need to either have ...
