Last week’s techmail was Customizing the Joe text editor which goes into some detail regarding customizing Joe, specifically about how you can change key bindings to make shortcuts or other modifications. Joe is one of the first text editors I’ve ever used with Linux, and I still use it today. I try to use vim more often just because I don’t know it as well as I would like (I use it remotely all the time, and I use it with mutt to write emails… I even have the keybindings in zsh to vim mode rather than emacs mode), but for quick edits and look-see’s, I still use joe the most (the keybindings are burned in my skull I think).
