Someone posted on the expert@ mailing list a very interesting link to a fellow who ran a series of benchmarks on different Linux filesystems over a year ago (Jan 2006). It was in the Linux Gazette and shows some very interesting stats. Granted, this was with the 2.6.14 kernel, so it would be interesting to see how things fair today, but it’s still a very interesting look-see regardless.
