So, I’ve gotten quite a few emails about what I’m going to be up to, so to save myself having to type the same thing over and over, here’s the lowdown.

I’ll be hanging out with Adam for two days in February… you can see where he’s going to be from his job announcement. I actually didn’t know about it until today, so it’s pretty cool that after having known Adam for a few years we’re going to be able to actually meet face-to-face.

For those who’ve read it, you know where I’m going. For those that don’t, Adam will be a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer at Red Hat. I’m going to the same place as an, officially titled, Senior Software Engineer, but technically as a member of the Red Hat Security Response Team. This is really exciting for me as I still get to deal with the same folks I’ve dealt with for years, in the same capacity — just from a different company. So I’m still doing security stuff, but the Red Hat process is quite a bit different from the Mandriva process so I have lots to learn. Still, I’m looking forward to the changes and challenges both.

I’m going to feel like such a n00b for a while, I think. Have I mentioned that I haven’t used Red Hat since version 5.1 and that I looked at Fedora Core 2 for the span of 1-2 days? Lots to learn and some differences (both technical and “practical”) between Mandriva and Red Hat that will take some time to get used to.
